Religious Facility – SANHEJA MOSQUE

At the crossroads of ancestral tradition and timeless architectural expression, the Sanheja Mosque stands as an ode to serenity and the sacred. The building adopts a revisited neoclassical and traditional architectural language, where immaculate white volumes interact with a majestic silver dome and a finely crafted minaret.

The façades are structured by large horseshoe arches, enriched with geometric mashrabiyas that filter natural light. This delicate interplay between opacity and transparency creates a deep atmosphere of contemplation, where light becomes an allegory of the spiritual connection between worshipper and faith.

Developed over a generous covered area of 1,510 m², the project follows a highly functional organization. It includes two prayer halls with balanced proportions, as well as an independent S+2 residence for the Imam, ensuring close management of the place of worship.

Through fluid transitional spaces and ornamental details celebrating Arab-Islamic heritage, this completed project (2022) stands as a defining architectural landmark for the Manouba community. Every detail—from the dome to the mineral finishes—has been carefully designed to create a sanctuary of peace where technical modernity blends with the permanence of the sacred.
